Comparing the Resilience of the Medical Staff During the COVID-19 Pandemic After Yalom Group Psychotherapy and Acceptance and Commitment Group Therapy

Background: The medical staff working on the front-line battle against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are more exposed to mental health risks than general population. Resilience is ability withstand challenging situations and help people defend their stressors. present study aimed compare effectiveness of Yalom acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) resilience in COVID-19 centers. Methods: research method was quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design control group. statistical population includes all 600 Hamedan City, Iran, caring for patients 2021. Based average variance obtained previous studies, 45 were selected by convenience sampling randomly assigned two experimental groups (each 15) one group (n=15). divided into ACT psychotherapy, three responded Connor-Davidson scale (CD-RISC) before after intervention. data analyzed analysis covariance SPSS software, version 25. Results: psychotherapy had different effects participants’ statistically significant since F statistics (106.722) (P=0.001 P=0.05, respectively). results, has better rate improvement ACT. Conclusion: Considering efficacy its relative ease implementation compared ACT, it possible employ this intervention protect during severe epidemics diseases such as coronavirus.
